Reading to a toddler

I recorded myself reading to my daughter when she was 18 months old because she is such an expressive child and I wanted to capture the precious moment. What I have found for myself is that reading to babies and toddlers mean you just use the text as a guidance but add your own words, add references that the child will understand, and generally just have fun. The best part about reading a book again and again and again, is that some parts become anticipated - which you can see on her face as she waits for the ‘no’. There’s nothing quite like sharing moments like that with a little person.

I am so grateful to have had access to such sweet and short little books that made storytime so fun! Thanks Dylan the dog!
